Archery charts and reference tables

Lookup tables for the numbers you check often: spine by draw weight and arrow length, draw length by height, FOC targets, energy by game size and the conversions in between.

How to use these charts

A calculator answers one setup. A chart shows you the shape of the whole problem, which is often the more useful thing. When you can see that moving from a 27 inch to a 29 inch arrow pushes you a full spine group weaker, or that going from a 100 to a 125 grain point does something similar, the trade-offs stop being surprises. That is what this section is for: the neighbouring values, not just yours.

The spine charts are the core of it. They cross draw weight against arrow length at a stated point weight, and they carry the caveat that matters most: static spine, the number printed on the shaft, is not the same as dynamic spine, which is how the arrow actually behaves out of your bow. Draw weight, arrow length, point weight and cam aggression all shift it. A heavier point or a longer arrow both weaken dynamic spine. Two shafts with an identical printed number can behave differently, so a chart puts you in the right group and bare shaft tuning confirms it.

Draw length tables run height and wingspan against the resulting draw length, which is a good sanity check on a shop measurement. FOC tables give the working ranges: roughly 7 to 12 percent for target work, 10 to 15 percent for hunting setups, and 19 percent and up for extreme FOC builds. Kinetic energy and momentum tables show what different arrow weights and speeds actually carry, and grain conversion tables handle components.

Treat every number here as a well-sourced starting point rather than a verdict. Manufacturer spine charts disagree with each other because their shafts differ, which is precisely why these tables are built cross-manufacturer instead of pointing at one brand. Confirm your final setup against your bow manufacturer's specifications and a qualified pro shop, and never drop below 5 grains of total arrow weight per pound of draw weight.
